Monster Island was the Asylum's 2019 mockbuster and it was released in the same period as Godzilla King of the Monsters. The film tells the story of a monstrous creature living on a mysterious island. The island serves as a metaphor for this monstrous creature.


Asylum is a low budget picture. It focuses on a few human beings (Monster Island (2019) review) and concentrates the A-listers in one location to allow them to shoot their sequences during lunch. We must remember that this movie is a Kaiju film. So maybe The Asylum isn't so bad.
